Biodiversify

Designing the brand identity and website for a consultancy team that helps businesses tackle difficult problems related to biodiversity and sustainability.

"Ed’s exceptional creativity, eye for detail, and unique style has been instrumental in building our visual identity. He has brought Biodiversity’s essence to life, exceeding all expectations."

Sara Kenny Communications Specialist, Biodiversify

The brief

  • The first part of the brief was to design the new logo for Biodiversify, taking inspiration from a wealth of species from the natural world.
  • The second part of the brief was to create the overall brand identity – icons, illustrations, fonts and brand colour palettes – to reflect the essence of Biodiversify.
  • The third part of the brief was to design the responsive website (UX, UI, wireframes and visual design) for mobile, tablet and desktop.

The idea

  • The core concept of the logo is based upon interlocking silhouettes of flora, fauna, and fungi, revolving around the letter ‘B’.
  • I created two ‘responsive’ logos of different sizes, a simplified version and a more intricate logo with extra flourishes.
  • I developed a brand illustration tool kit with a unique style and strong visual narrative running throughout.
  • I designed the wireframes, UI and visual layout of the website, bringing together clean typography, icons, and playful illustrations.

The result

  • The new brand identity is unique, memorable, and true to the Biodiversify mission.
  • After refining each page template and supplying design guidelines and asset kits, the website was built by Joe Birkin who created a speedy and impactful website that can be easily updated by the Biodiversify team to showcase their brand offering to their online audience.
  • The new brand has been truly brought to life through the website, which is am engaging and accessible experience across mobiles, tablets and desktops.
